About
Emissions trading lies at the heart of our national and international plans to mitigate future climate change. The purpose of this blog is to report on the background, progress, and potential implementation of cap and trade legislation from the perspective of a climate scientist.
I became interested in climate change as an undergrad in Boston University’s Earth Sciences department. From there I crossed the Charles River and the Cape Cod Canal and got my PhD in paleoclimate from the MIT/WHOI Joint Program. My thesis work focused on understanding how the climatology of the Indian Monsoon has changed over time. After a brief postdoc at Scripps Institution of Oceanography I returned to the East Coast to take part in Al Gore’s Climate Project, giving about 40 presentation on global warming to schools throughout the state of Maine. I am currently the Associate Director of the Rutgers Climate and Environmental Change Initiative. I live in Highland Park, NJ with my husband and one year old daughter.
